Laundry Sorting
Target Age:
Middle Four-Year Old

photos of all family members, laundry
What To Do:
Children love to be helpful around the house! Try involving your child in the task of laundry sorting: Arrange photos of all the members of your family on the floor and have your child match the articles of clothing to the appropriate picture. Not only will this work on your child's visual discrimination and matching skills, but your child will love the process of helping you with a household chore!
Variations:
If your child is interested, have your child fold his/her own laundry and put it in a basket.
Have your child take the basket to his/her room and place the clothing in the drawers marked with pictures to match the clothing items. (The socks go in the drawer that has the picture of socks etc.).
