Pouring

Target Age:

Early Four-Year Old

Materials You Will Need:

dish tubs or large cake pan, two small cups or pitchers, water, sponge

What To Do:

Today's pouring activity will promote your child's hand/eye coordination. Fill one container with water, (using food coloring to color the water makes the activity even more intriguing), and place inside the tub or pan. Demonstrate how to pour the liquid slowly and carefully into the other, (empty), container, then pour it back into the original one. Use the sponge to clean up any spills if necessary. Invite your child to try.

Variations:

Pour without using the tubs or pans to catch spills.
